LAWMAN has a multitude of security options for managing access to sensitive reports, restricting crime scene photos and report narrative access from non-sworn personnel, totally removing the ability to access offense histories, and a hierarchical security system for approval of reports throughout the chain of command. LAWMAN's Report Manager component within CAD/RMS allows officers to type individual narrative reports and supplements. Reports ownership is isolated to the author until a supervisor reviews the report and secures it from any further changes. Once secured, reports are stored using 128-bit encryption within the database.
